Finale. Closure. The End.

We are running out of time for our last year in high school... I'm nervous and excited to move on to the next stage of my journey. I'm happy to learn that in my artistic side-- i'm now a pen and ink diehard, and I forsee a lot of doodling and drawing in the future to keep my dexterity in that field.

It's been a good year!

To be or not to be

This is nearlt it! We'll all be sone-- and dor the seniors, we'll be out! This is a great week for art students and art enthusiasts, and I'm interested to see how the night goes!

I've spent the past couple classes getting all my work ready for the show, and let me tell you-- its been keeping me busy! Matting, fixing pieces, tidying up edges, etc for 10/12 pieces... Not to mention we've got to mae our artist's statements -_-. Oh well, we're nearly there. Go seniors!

Time

I can't believe how close we are to the end of the school year! Relatively speaking that is. Also, it is weird to think that next year we won't be at lakeridge.

Similar to that, i'm waiting on hearing from my school about housing assignments, i'm so excited!

SpringBreak

My family and I drove to Palm Springs...thats right.. The whole 17 hours through the night to artive at around 10 am on friday. It was fun, not too sunny, but it was great to spend time with my grandparents. We saw a fine art gallery. But didnt go inside :p. The from thursday to sunday was a lax tournament -_-.

Skiing

I missed the concentration review because I was skiing. I disnt do too well, but it was really fun. Go art!

Snow Day

I thought the snow day had screwed us up. But it was handy. And this week I get to go skiing for State Ski Racing!!

CCC Field Trip

I am looking forward to enjoying our trip to CCC. I actually think its a pretty sweet idea. I'll edit it after it- expanding upon the trip.

Finally!

I actually enjoyed writing the critiques. The idea of expounding on peoples creations and taking my own perspective on it, as well as making my own comments is cool. I like getting the critiques to help my work-- so I find satisfaction in giving it to others.

After hearing critiques that told me I was being too literal with my topic of "Isolation and Solitude", I tried, for these concentration pieces, to more abstractly represent the theme-- instead of having a bunch of sad/lonely people.

I went to my beach this MLK weekend, and we ripped apart our little cabin, so the fire department can burn it down. I managed to salvage a few wooden shelves that may or may not become my new art surfaces? But it was cool... next weekend i'll be down there watching it BURN. Muhaha. But now i won't have to dumpster dive thanks to the wood..

Winter Break

I had a pretty relaxing but fun winter break. I went skiing a couple times, kept the 100 photos project in the back of my mind but struggled with my pictures. Taking 100 photos is easy, but taking 100 GOOD photos is not..
